2010 Audi Q7 3.0 TDI

ddmq7090002Along with the 2010 VW Touareg 3.0 TDI comes this fall the freshened 2010 Audi Q7 3.0 V6 TDI. Audi has given the 2010 Q7 three row SUV a number of styling and feature upgrades that make it a tough choice comparative to even a Mercedes GL350.

The 2010 Q7 has new LED daytime and signal lighting as well as jewel-like rear LED lamps. Visual updates include new front and rear fascias, chrome trims and paint colors to boot. Audi has always had the interior department cornered, but adds new leather trims, wood accents and colors for the 2010 Q7, staying on top of the luxury market.

The TDI clean diesel option brings much better efficiency to the heavy SUV, with a claimed 25mpg highway and over 600 miles in the fuel tank. A major achievement from just a few years ago in diesel emissions, Audi has achieved a Bin5/ULEV (ultra low emissions vehicle) II 50-state status for the Q7.  That puts this diesel on the same emissions levelas gasoline-based engines, but with 30% better fuel efficiency.

The 225hp V6 diesel uses a variable vane turbocharger to push the Q7 to 60mph in only 8.5 seconds. It utilizes a urea injection of AdBlue which the owner must refill at service intervals and is packaged such that a collapsible spare wheel can still be fitted. And of course you get Quattro all-wheel-drive.

Now if we could only see a day when the top-dog Q7 V-12 TDI were to come this way.
